Texas offers some of the best spots for hiking due to the sheer diversity in terrain and there are over 70 national and state parks scatter throughout the state. Whether you want to hike steep mountains or flat, swampy grasslands, you can find plenty of beautiful places to explore here.
My family had the opportunity to visit Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Natural area to get away for a little while. Garner State Park had some amazing hikes, fishing and was right on the Frio River. Garner State Park has many activities for the family including camping sites. Lost Maples State Natural area also had some great hikes for the family including a challenging 4 mile hike. These two places have some great areas to spend time with the family and I cannot wait to check out more of the places on the list.
