The Bubble In Austins Real Estate Market Will Burst

That is the rumor and the fear. History and trends help us predict the future and make decisions about what or what not to do (most of the times). Buyers and sellers ask me on a daily basis if the real estate market's bubble is about to burst. They have good reasons to be asking this very important question. Historically, the real market has shifted from a seller's to a buyer's market and vice versa in about 4 to 5 years. Our current real estate market shifted to a seller's market in 2012, hence the concern buyers and sellers have.
According to Mark Sprague, Austin Economist and Director of Informational Capital at Independence Title, Austin continues to have steady and organic growth and it is not in a bubble. In a meeting I attended this morning, Mr. Sprague shared with our team at Team Price Real Estate that there aren't any indicators that the real estate market in Austin is going to shift to a buyer's market in the near future. He predicts that sales in the Austin area will increase 5% by the end of 2016.
