No Vacation? Take a Day-cation!

The greater Austin Metroplex is replete with things to do and see.  Located nearby are various lakes, rivers and parks of all sizes. Taking off a few hours on a single day could be just the thing to refresh your mind and renew your energy.

A few local nature favorites are:

Austin and Travis Lakes-great for boating and fishing.  There are rentals.

Ladybird Lake- (pictured courtesy RootsRated) Canoes, trails and picnics.

Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve-walk among the free roaming Peacocks

Barton Springs Municipal Pool. This is a 3+acre spring fed pool.

Zilker Metropolitan Park-host to many special events and festivals.

Barton Creek Greenbelt- feeds off of Zilker Park, walking, biking and light hiking.

Mueller Lake Park- walking trails, lake, farmers market on Sundays.

Brushy Creek Park- canoeing, walking, and picnicking.
