Lyft Competitor Launches At Austin Airport
Dated: May 9 2016
Per the Austin Business Journal: As Uber and Lyft stop driving in the Austin city limits, a new transportation service has launched specifically to service the airport.
San Francisco-based Wingz Inc. has expanded its flat-rate transportation service throughout Texas, including to the Austin Airport. The company is similar to other transportation network companies in that it uses a mobile app to request, monitor and pay the drivers using their own cars. However, Wingz only focuses on delivering and picking up passengers from the airport.
Wingz has also expanded to Dallas Dallas/Fort Worth International airports as well as Houston's William P. Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental airports. Its passenger pickup is also active in Seattle, San Diego, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area, according to its website.
In other news, Uber has also threatened to leave Houston over it's background checks as well.
Lucky for us, the greater Austin area still has Uber and Lyft to get us home!
