Have You Made Your Patio Ready For Summer

 Summer nights are great for enjoying our patios with friends and good food. Here are some easy ways to brighten up this outdoor area. 

  Power wash the concrete areas and deck. 

  After the winter concrete and deck areas need to be cleaned. The easiest way is to power wash them. You can lease a power washer from the Home Depot for $76 a day. Here are some before and after pictures. Image title

String some porch lights on your patio.   Hanging lights around the patio creates a festive mood.  It's  fun to sit outdoors in the evenings and relax.

Add some seating to your patio.  Brighten the outdoors and create a lounge for relaxation and fun. Image title

Create an outdoor beverage area.  This is a great idea in the summer so you don't have to plan ahead. You can even build the station from crates. Image title

Hang some curtains outdoors. These are great to create privacy and also to keep the heat out during daylight. Image title


Add some outdoor planters. Planters look great outdoors and add color to your patio. I keep them out all year buying plants that bloom in the summer and can handle freezes. This way you can keep them out all year. Especially in Austin where we don't have very many nights below freezing. Add an outdoor water feature.  An outdoor water feature freshens the patio on hot summer nights and the sound is very relaxing.
