Golden State Warriors With A Remarkable Comeback
Dated: May 31 2016
Wowzers! With an NBA conference finals comeback not seen since the Boston Celtics overcame the Philadelphia 76ers in 1981, the Golden State Warriors have defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was nothing shy of amazing, truly. The Golden State Warriors, down 3 games to 1, had to win 4 games in a row to stay alive and clinch the Western Conference Finals. After, what looked like insurmountable odds, they came back and conquered the Thunder. All 4 games were tough challenges right down the last seconds.
Who remembers when the Boston Celtics, lead by the Hall of Famer, Larry Bird came back from a 3-1 game deficit to defeat the 76ers, lead by Hall of Famer Julius "Dr. J" Erving? The Celtics came back in game 7 to win by 1 point...just one point! You can't get more intense than this. I am sure, at the time the series was being played, no one knew both Larry and Julius would eventually be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Do you believe there were any future Hall of Fame players representing either team? Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook...I suppose only time will tell.
Now, the Warriors must prepare for the ultimate series, the NBA Finals. If you think you are having a case of deja vu, think again. The Golden State Warriors will be defending their 2015 Finals win from none other than the team they defeated in the Finals last year, Cleveland Cavaliers. I don't know about you, but I am excited to see how these two teams battle it out. With Steph Curry leading Golden State, and LeBron James leading the Cleveland, this is bound to be a fight to the very end.
