When you head west of the Austin Texas Metro on Hwy 290 the first little town you come to is Dripping Springs. "Drip" or "Drippin'', as us locals call it, still has a small town charm but is growing up fast. There is still a small downtown area with a wide variety of shops, bars, coffee shops, food and a few local old time businesses. If you need a quick fix for your small shop shopping habit visiting Drippin' might fit the bill.
There are recently opened subdivisions and another 15 or so coming in the near future. These new home choices as well as the resale market means there is something for almost everyone. Most of the older neighborhoods offer homes with large lots (1 acre+) while most of the newer subdivisions offer more amenities. Dripping Springs schools are highly rated from Pre-K to 12th grade. A new middle school and elementary will open next school year.
