According to an Article I read in the Austin Business Journal, WalletHub ranked Texas within the top 20 retirement states. The article also stated that SeniorAdvice.com ranked Austin as the #2 city for retirees. I checked on SeniorAdvice.com and found that they rate Texas as the #8 retirement state.
These rankings are based on important factors like: quality of life, availability of health care, affordability, etc.
As a realtor, on the ground in the midst of the buyers and sellers, I personally have been involved with multiple clients looking to retire in the Austin area. With the good weather, comparatively low housing costs, and all the great 55+ communities around; Austin is a great place to retirees. These 55+ communities have great amenities that allow the retired to be active in every area of life and enjoy the things they love to do.
If you know someone who is interested in moving to a 55+ community, or needs real estate related help and/or advice; contact me. I would love to help make that transition as smooth as possible.

"Tana and Mark were awesome to work with. They went over and beyond our expectations at every step and turn of the entire process. If I had to pick something that really made me appreciate their efforts, it would be Tana going out of her way to ensure the paint used following some minor ceiling repair was an exact match and went as far as having it repainted a second time. I would absolutely recommend Mark and Tana. They are an awesome team that treated us like family and focused on top, prompt and quality customer service! Scott and Mary Ritch "
